Engagement Model
Tukia’s operations can be broken down into three core functions, as outlined in the table below. In addition, Tukia is able to call on global expertise in capital raising as required.
| Engagement Function | Commercial Function | Bridging Function |
|---|---|---|
| Driven by the utmost respect for different tikanga, kaupapa and aspirations of owners | Driven by the need to deliver extraordinary returns over the long term | Driven by the desire to find sweet spots between commercial strategies and cultural aspiration |
| Kanohi ki te kanohi on the marae and with traditional leaders of Iwi, Hapu and Whanau | Producing logic and risk management strategies that meet the requirements of the most rigorous due diligence | Facilitating introductions between partners and developing sophisticated communication |
The Tukia model collapses without equal and dedicated attention to all three functions, each of which must be carried out by exceptional people.
Initially, cultural and commercial goals might seem far apart. It is the unique function of Tukia Group to identify the common ground between the two approaches, and to bridge the gap with skillful translation. Over the course of the project, traditional owners and commercial partners find themselves on the same page, in a position of mutual respect, and ready for successful execution. This is illustrated in the diagram below.
